First hike in Huaraz!!!

Dining Room and Patio at the Guestlodge.

A hut we encountered near the trailhead.

Beautiful grassy alpine meadows are a nice contrast to the majestic snowcapped peaks.

The silhouettes of Mark, John, and our trail guide.

That´s me :)

This picture was taken just outside the guestlodge.

I woke up this morning at 7 and had breakfast with an Australian family and a guy from Quebec. The temperature here is amazing! It´s sunny with a gorgeous breeze, not humid at all, and if you sweat while hiking, it´ll dry as soon as you take a break. Today I hiked with 2 guys from England, Mark and John. The Macashca hill trek was stunning but quite difficult, I´m not yet acclimatized so breathing at the moment can be labouring! Highest elevation reached today was 4200m with excellent views of the snowcapped peaks of the Cordilleran Blanca and Huascaran (the highest mountain in Peru). This blurb should be at the beginning, but all the commands are in Spanish, so this is as good as it gets.
